Mrs. Beatrice Drones Griffith, 55, died Monday January 25,2016 at Merit Health Center in Jackson. Services for Mrs. Griffith were held on Saturday January 30, 2016 at Point Pleasant Baptist Church, with Rev. Robert Grubbs of Powell’s Ministries officiating. Interment was in the Point Pleasant M. B. Church Cemetery, with Laird Mortuary in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Griffith was the daughter of the late Annie E. Drones of rural Jefferson Davis County. At an early age she joined the Macedonia M. B. Church, where she served as a member of the choir, and later she attended Powell Ministries Church of God in Christ.

Mrs. Griffith was reared and educated in the Jefferson Davis County School system, where she served as President of the FF A and director of the Prentiss High Choir. As a provider, she worked at the Hill Crest Nursing Center and Magee General Hospital for many years.

In 1975, Mrs. Griffith married Gary Griffith of Jefferson Davis County, and to this union four children were born, two of whom preceded her in death, Sylvia G. and Vincent E.

Mrs. Griffith’s survivors include her husband Gary L. Griffith; children, Jeramie Griffith, and Shagaria Griffith, all of Prentiss; six siblings, Janice Deen, John (CherreII) Drones, Betty Mayes, and Franklin Drones all of Gulfport, and Bobby Drones ofMt. Olive; four grandchildren; and a number of other relatives and friends.
