The Prentiss Headlight / Ada Gray Joshua

Funeral services were held Wednesday, March 2, 2016 at Point Pleasant M. B. Church, Mt. Olive, Mississppi for Mrs. Ada Strickland Gray Joshua, 99, who died Saturday, February 27, 2016 at The Arrington Living Center, Collins, MS.  Rev. James Harrell officiated with interment following in the church cemetery.  Johnson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Ada Joshua was born in Jefferson Davis County to the late Sylvester and Julia Lee Strickland.  She was a member of Point Pleasant M. B. Church and remained a faithful member until her health failed.  She was married to the late Ledrew Gray and to this union, three sons were born.  Later, she married the late Rev. Joe Joshua.  She completed her education at Prentiss Institute and was the cafeteria manager in the Simpson County School System for many years.

She was preceded in death by: son, Ralph, five brothers and three sisters.

She is survived by: sons, Glenn (Jacqueline) Gray and Larry (Elizabeth) Gray both of Mt. Olive, MS; god-daughter, Annie K. Arrington of Las Vegas, NV; daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Gray of Jackson, MS; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-granchildren; 2 great-great granchildren; two sisters, Bessie L. Little of Jackson, MS and Lola M. Gray of Mt. Olive, MS; many other relatives and friends.
