Dr. Samuel Jones has been chosen as the speaker for the 2016 Mother of the Year Freedom Fund Banquet. The banquet will be held Saturday, April 30, 2016, at 6:00 p.m., at the Rosenwald Cultural Arts Center, on the campus of Prentiss Institute.
Dr. Samuel Jones is a professional speaker, author, and educator originally from Gunnison, MS. He’s the current owner of Life Changing Presentations, which consist of seminars & presentations that focuses on leadership development training/coaching, professional keynotes, and strategic planning.  He is also currently the Vice President of Student Affairs at Jones County Junior College in Ellisville, Mississippi and the leadership facilitator for the Mississippi Economic Council’s Leadership Mississippi program.
As a former college and professional athlete with years of executive management experience, he overcame incredible obstacles to now enjoy a life of service. Dr. Jones is a passionate facilitator, who really connects with his audience on the topics that matter most.
Today, he is passionate about success—the success of individuals and organizations. He shares his personal expertise through his experiences in order to highlight personal and professional know-hows that will truly make a difference.
He is the author of The Man I Never Knew: How Leadership Can be Developed by Faith, Family, and Friends and Live Life on Purpose: From Discovery to Practice. His 3rd book will be released in 2016 called Winning Before & Beyond the Finish Line: From Success to Significance.
Dr. Jones received a Bachelor’s degree in Advertising, a Master’s degree in Public Relations from the University of Southern Mississippi and a Ph.D. from Mississippi State University in Educational Leadership.  After his basketball career at USM, he continued his professional basketball career in Finland.  He’s conducted training and seminars for organizations such as: G. E. aviation, Entergy MS,  Farm Bureau, the Leadership MS program (sponsored by MEC), University of Southern MS, Mississippi State University, Navigator Credit Union, MS Power, and the MS Dept. of Education to name a few.  He’s a proud member of the National Speakers Association and a member of the Alumni Hall of Fame at the University of Southern Mississippi.
Dr. Jones is married to the former Sarah Clark of Richton, MS.  He is an ordained Minister and he serves as the Superintendent for the Sunday school at Peace and Goodwill Missionary Baptist Church in Richton, MS.
