Funeral services were held Saturday, May 7, 2016 at Greater Deliverance Worship Ministry Church for Miss Stephanie Renita Davis, 50, who died Saturday, April 30, 2016 at Jeff Davis Community Hospital.  Rev. Ronald Walker officiated with interment following in the Stewart Family Cemetery, Silver Creek, MS.  Johnson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Miss Stephanie Renita Davis was born to the late Edward and Virginia Davis in Queens, New York. After moving to Mississippi with her mother, she attended Monticello High School.  After furthering her education, she served 15 years as a correction officer in Tennessee and became Captain of her department.  She also worked at Millcreek Recreation Center in Magee, Mississippi and served on the Law Enforcement Team of Simpson and Jefferson Davis County.

She was a member of Refuge of the Harvest Ministry.

She was preceded in death by: brother, Edward H. Davis and sister, Patricia Parker.

She is survived by: three children, Latigra Fortenberry of Silver Creek, MS; Travis Fortenberry of Atlanta, GA and Virginia Fortenberry of Deridder, LA; fiancee, Charles Otis of Prentiss,MS; sister, Michelle Hargrove of Gainesville, FL, three brothers, Kevin Rogers of Kuwait, Preston (Chandra) Davis, Sr. and Miles Davis of Silver Creek, MS; 2 grandsons and many other relatives and friends.
