Top of Class honored at JCJC

ELLISVILLE- Jones County Junior College recently hosted WDAM-TV’s annual Top of Class recognition program.
Valedictorians and salutatorians from 47 schools participated in this year’s celebration.
Prentiss Christian School Valedictorian Taytum Reid and Salutatorian Luke McNerney participated in this year’s celebration.
Prentiss High School Valedictorian James Dyess and Salutatorian A.J. Walker also participated in this year’s event, along with Bassfield High School Valedictorian Janell Womack and Salutatorian Josh Hubbard.
WDAM-TV news personalities Karrie Leggett-Brown, Lauren Coleman and Jacque Massey awarded the area’s valedictorians and salutatorians with a certificate of achievement.
The group of 100 high school students was honored with a day of entertainment, speakers, breakfast and a little fun doing the traditional “Hat Toss” on the lawn of the President’s House.
The WDAM-TV production crew videotaped the event to be featured during WDAM-Sunrise at 5:58 a.m., beginning May 16 through June 20, and on the WDAM-TV web page.
WDAM-TV and Jones County Junior College are sponsors of this event to honor the academic achievements of the Pine Belt’s top students.
