The year was 1818, there were dirt roads and carriages. No hustle and bustle, just hard working Jeff Davis County residents. There is the middle of a time where time was just something you overlooked. Back then, people enjoyed every moment to the fullest. As we all know happiness comes from knowing Jesus Christ, and this was the year Bethany Baptist Church was born. With Bethany being the oldest oprganized Baptist church in the county, that means an anniversary celebration is underway. Stay tuned for date and time at a later date.

On a lighter note, it is said children are the minds of the future. I happen to agree with that. Numbers of young hearts are growing like wild fires, Kid Zone was recently created by Mrs. Marilyn Spears. A night of bible study, play time, and food is definitely where any child would want to be. Children ages 4-12 are most welcome, nursery provided for toddlers and infants. Beginning at 6 p.m., every Wednesday with a meal served promptly first. Children will need to be picked up by 6:45 p.m., for more information contact Marilyn Spears at 601-270-5926. With the growing numbers in the church, nursery volunteers are in high demand. A rotation will be put in place for those who those who are eager to help out. You may sign up with Jordan Faler at 601-942-4423.
