Brewer recipient of first President’s Award

Thomas Brewer was the recipient of the first annual President’s Award given by the Jefferson Davis County Forestry Association for years of dedicated service to the citizens of Jefferson Davis County.

“Thomas Earl Brewer has served as an Extension Agent for 17 years with the Mississippi State University Extension Service,” stated Forestry Association President Jack Rauenhorst. “He began his career with the Extension Service as an Agent in Training in Leake County and then served as the 4-H Extension Agent in Copiah County. For the past 14 years Brewer has served as the MSU Extension Service County Agent in Jeff Davis County.”

During his tenure Brewer has been actively involved in planning and directing of education programs in forestry, horticulture, livestock and 4-H youth development.

Brewer serves on the Board of Directors of the Jefferson Davis CFA as secretary/treasurer and the board relies on his organizational skill, insight and guidance at every meeting. “Although quiet by nature,” stated Rauenhorst, “Brewer stays mentally engaged and is quick to propose a solution when needed. Anyone who has attended a function put together by Brewer knows what an exceptional cook he is.”

Brewer and his wife Natasha have two children, Thomas and Jhaven.
