Graveside Services were held Thursday, July 15, 2016 at Bassfield Cemetery in Bassfield, MS. for Mr. Lawrence Larue Courtney, age 85, of Kingsland, GA who passed away at University of Florida on July 9, 2016.    Interment followed in Bassfield Cemetery. Saulters Moore Funeral Home of Prentiss handled all arrangements.

Rev. Charles Lee Loftin officiated. Pallbearers were the Air Force National Guard.

Mr. Lawrence was born August 24, 1930 in Bassfield, MS.  He was the son of Joe Courtney and Belma Davis.  He was retired from the Air Force and served in the Korean and Vietnam wars. He was a member of Bassfield Baptist church.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years Patricia Courtney of Kingsland, Ga., one son, Michael L. Courtney also of Kingsland. Three grandchildren and four great grandchildren. One sister, Patsy Carlisle of Prentiss, Ms.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sons and one brother.
