Beedie E. Sullivan, 84, of Bassfield, MS, went to her heavenly home on Monday, July 18, 2016. Visitation was from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 21, 2016, at Saulters-Moore Funeral Home in Prentiss, MS.  Services were held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 22, 2016, at Saulters–Moore Funeral Home Chapel. Interment followed in Sullivan Cemetery at Bethel Baptist Church, Bassfield, MS.

Rev. Charles Lee Loftin officiated. Pall bearers were: James Ray Applewhite, David Sullivan, Doug Ford, Darrell Ford, Mike Sullivan and Richard Sullivan. Honorary bearer was Dewey Ford.

Survivors include her children, Allan Sullivan and wife Sheila, Kokomo, MS, Elaine Sullivan, Madison, MS, Delores Sanders, Madison, MS, Debbie Shedd and husband Mark, Hattiesburg, MS; sister-in-law Hilda Roberts, Hattiesburg, MS; brother-in-law, Bobby Sullivan and wife Sarah, Bassfield, MS; grandchildren, Steven Sullivan, West Hollywood, CA, Sandy Federowski, Columbia, MS, Sarah Sanders, Madison, MS, Christopher Lea, Brandon, MS, Katie Jewell Lea, Hattiesburg, MS, Kelly Shedd Howell and husband Kenny, Petal, MS; four great-grandchildren, Brittney Federowski , Jamie Federowski, Shaelin Raine Lea, Ashton Lea and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Vester Sullivan, Jr.;  father, Lewis Roberts; mother, Jewell Myers Saulters and step-father, Sam Saulters; brothers, Gherston Roberts, James Roberts, Kindol Roberts and Delma Roberts; sisters, Marie Ross and Annita Applewhite.

Beedie’s interests included singing, reading, gardening and growing flowers. She very much appreciated the beauty in all of God’s creation. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Bassfield, MS.  Pastor Charles Lee Loftin and wife, Karen, were very special friends.  She very much loved and enjoyed all her church family.  She was loved and respected by her children, family, and all who knew her. Time spent with family and her dear friends meant so much to her and brought her great joy. This sweet lady was such a blessing to all, and she always had kind words to say to lift one’s spirits.  She had a great sense of humor and always had a smile on her face. Her love of God and her faith were very evident in her life. She was an angel on earth and is now with our dad in heaven. She will be deeply missed.
