Funeral services were held Saturday, August 13, 2016 at China Lee M. B. Church, Silver Creek, Mississippi for Mr. Christopher Gardner, 59, who died Tuesday, August 2, 2016 at his sister’s residence in New Orleans, LA.  Rev. Jerry Earl officiated with interment following in the church cemetery.  Johnson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Christopher Gardner was born in Silver Creek, Mississippi to the late Woodrow and Celeste Gardner. He was the youngest of thirteen children.

He became a certified welder at New Orleans Job Corps and worked various jobs in the city of New Orleans.

He was preceded in death by: son, Quincy Jones, Sr., 4 sisters, Mary Stewart, Jeanette White, Robin Huntington and Patsy Gardner; 3 brothers, Teddy Gardner, Paul Gardenr and Ike Gardner.

Mr. Gardner is survived by: grandson, Quincy Jones, Jr., one sister, Isadell Castle of New Orleans, LA; four brothers, Ira Gardner, Freddie Gardner, Talman Gardner and Alvin Gardner all of Silver Creek, Ms; many other relatives and friends.
