“Billy Boy” was born April 26, 1927 in New Hebron, MS.  He was the son of Cabe Stephens and Fannie Rutland Stephens.  He was a WWII Marine Corps Veteran. He was a farmer and worked at New Hebron Mfg. for several years. He was a self-employed wood hauler. He was a member of New Hebron Baptist Church. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed writing songs and poetry. He loved his family very much and wanted to spend all the time that he could with them. The back porch was the place of most gatherings, and he preferred his children to stay as long as possible and spend the night when they could. Having 2 O’clock coffee was an everyday occurrence with family and any friends that could drop by. If he got to ride off with Bo, he always apologized and said “stay where you are, we’ll be right back.” He loved Jesus and his church family. He left his home here and went into his heavenly home. He is now resting on the back porch of his mansion waiting on all his friends and family to arrive.
