Funeral rites for James G. “Buck” Terrell were held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 9, 2016 in the Chapel of Saulters-Moore Funeral Home. Mr. Terrell, age 78, passed away from this life on Friday, October 7, 2016 at his residence in Jefferson Davis County. Reverend Vernon Terrell, Reverend Dewayne Mayo, and Reverend Robb Webb officiated. Lyn Holloway provided the musical service and interment was in Terrell Cemetery.
Saulters-Moore Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers were Brock Hudson, Steve Terrell, Tennon Walters, Cliff Kelly, Jason Myers, and Glyn Coulter.
James Garon “Buck” Terrell was born on November 6, 1937 in Jefferson Davis County to James Neville Terrell and Jewel Theo Broome Terrell. Mr. Terrell was the retired manager of Piggly Wiggly Grocery Store in Collins and was a salesman in the oilfield industry. He was a veteran of the Army National Guard and a member of Carson United Methodist Church.
Mr. Terrell was preceded in death by his mother and father; 1 brother, William Terrell; and 1 sister, Pat Douglas.
Survivors are his wife of 57 years, Darlene Thurman Terrell of Prentiss; 2 daughters, Diann Terrell of Prentiss and Cindy Terrell Warren of Collins; 2 granddaughters, Jennifer Guilbert Aylesworth and Alyssa Warren; 2 great-grandchildren, Cade Garon Aylesworth and Camryn Aylesworth; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
