Funeral services were held Wednesday, October 12, 2016 at Point Pleasant M. B. Church, Mt. Olive, MS for Mrs. Tinie D. Hooks Gray, 79, who died Wednesday, October 5, 2016 at her residence.  Rev. Erskin Magee officiated with interment following in the church cemetery.  Johnson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Tinie D. Gray was born to the late Catrie and Madison Jackson Hooks in Jefferson Davis County, MS. She joined Point Pleasant M.B.Church at an early age and remained a faithful member until her death.  She grew up in the Mt. Olive Community and attended school there.

She was married to the late Willie Louis Gray and to this union six sons and three daughters were born.

Mrs. Gray was preceded in death by: one son, Willie Lee Gray; one sister and five brothers.

She is survived by: five sons, Amos L. (Barbara) Gray of Columbus, GA, Roger L. (Alisa) Gray of Lilburn, GA, Roy M. (Margie) Gray of Monahan, TX, James E. (Katrina) Gray of Jackson, MS; Archie Gray of Prentiss, MS; three daughters, Dorothy J. Gray of Prentiss, MS, Betty L. Gray of Odessa, TX and Diane (Don) Gray of New Orleans, LA; one brother, Howard Hooks of Prentiss, MS; sister-in-law, Irene Gray of Prentiss, MS; 24 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; many other relatives and friends.
