A Bassfield Volunteer Fire Department truck overturned last week while responding to a fire on Bass Burkett Road. The driver of the truck was treated and released with only minor injuries. The cause of the crash is still under investigation at this time. A $500 fine was issued to the property owner as the fire was started during a countywide burn ban. Jefferson Davis County is under a burn ban until November 7.
