Funeral services for Alagene Wingo, of Silver Creek, were Thursday, Dec. 15, 2016, at Old Silver Creek Baptist Church, Silver Creek. Burial was in the Old Silver Creek Cemetery. Rev. Richard Green and Rev. Micha Rutland officiated. Saulters- Moore Funeral Home of Prentiss was in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Wingo, 89, died Dec. 12, 2016, at her residence. Mrs. Wingo was born in Silver Creek, on Jan. 10, 1927 to Rex Fortenberry and Jewel Polk Fortenbery She was a homemaker and she ran the Baptist Book Store for the Historical Society in South Carolina for a number of years. She was a member of Old Silver Creek Baptist Church.

Survivors are her two daughters, Wanda Sandifer (Keith) of Silver Creek and Patti Manning (Jerry) of Columbus; one grandchild; and one sister, Peggy Gray of New Orleans, Louisiana.
Pallbearers were Tim Watson, John Watson, Will Watson, Dwayne Fortenberry, Terry Savage and Derrick Watkins.
