Funeral services for Maurine May were held Saturday Dec. 10, 2016, at Saulters-Moore Funeral Home Chapel in Prentiss with burial in the New Hebron cemetery. Rev. Trey Spangler and Rev. Andy McDaniel officiated.

Mrs. May, 85, died Dec. 8, 2016, in Baptist Hospital in Jackson. Mrs. May was born May 9, 1931, in New Hebron to Marvin Barber and Dessie Walker Barber. She was a seamstress for 10 years at New Hebron Manufacturing. She was a homemaker and a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband and one sister.

 Pallbearers were Scott Fuller, Kevin Fuller, James Fuller, B.J. Cox, Jerry Cox and Gregg Gilmer.

Survivors are one son, Albert May of Silver Creek; two daughters: Sybil Cox of Prairieville, Louisiana and Glenda Fuller of Birmingham, Alabama; nine grandchildren and 20 great great-grandchildren.
