Funeral services were held Wednesday, December 21, 2016 at Oakvale Baptist Church for Mrs. Patricia Ann Barnes, age 69, who passed away December 19, 2016 at the Lawrence Co. Hospital in Monticello. Interment followed in Society Hill cemetery.  Saulters- Moore Funeral Home of Prentiss, handled arrangements.

Rev. Gary Cockrell, Rev. Jimmy Harvey and Rev. Eddie Myers officiated.  Pallbearers were sons and grandsons, Wade Barnes, Bo Barnes, Dawson Barnes, Jason Barnes, Connor Barnes, Garrett Barnes and Dillon Barnes.

Mrs. “Pat” was born in Lawrence County on February 19, 1947, to C.F. Harper and Ceil Bozeman Harper. She retired as a rural mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service. She was a resident of Oakvale and a member of Oakvale Baptist Church.

She is survived by her three sons, Bo Barnes and Jason Barnes of Monticello, and Wade Barnes of Columbia, four grandchildren and two great grandchildren; her mother, Ceil Kyzer of Laurel; her brothers, Robert Harper of Prentiss and John Kyzer of Laurel; her sister, Cathy Cockrell of Laurel; her sister-in-law, Barbara Ladner of Perkinston.

She was preceded in death by her father; husband, Sammy Virgil Barns and step father, Albert Kyzer.
