Five candidates have qualified and will run for the Prentiss alderman position left vacant after the sudden death of Alderman Todd Broome.

Jamie H. Cochran, Rudolph (Rudy) McNease, Levi K. McRaney, Hal (Moochie) Speights, and Jennifer (LuLu) Traylor seek the position.

Prentiss City Hall will remain open until 7 p.m. each night for absentee voting until Jan. 6. It will also be open Saturday, Jan. 7 from 8 a.m.—noon.

The winner must receive fifty percent plus one vote to avoid a run-off.
