JDC Firefighter of the Year

The annual Jefferson Davis County Volunteer Firefighter Banquet was held Tuesday, Jan. 24 at the Rosenwald Building on the Prentiss Institute campus.
The event is for volunteer firefighters and their families as a small way to show appreciation for everything they do for Jefferson Davis County.
A special thanks to all businesses that made donations for the event, as well as mayors Charley Dumas and Pat Courtney, Bassfield and Prentiss aldermen, and the Jefferson Davis County supervisors for their support.
Each volunteer fire department in Jefferson Davis County chooses a firefighter of the year for their department. Of those selected, an overall county winner is chosen.
Jennifer Ann Meredith of Granby Fire Department was presented the Jefferson Davis County Firefighter of the Year award.
Guest speaker for the event was Terry Wages. Wages is the fire chief for the Brandon Fire Department.
