Funeral services were held Saturday, Jan. 21, 2017, at Johnson Funeral Home Chapel for Mr. Johnny Mitchell Harper, 54, who died Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2017, at Oschner’s Hospital in New Orleans, Louisiana. Rev. McLaurin officiated with interment following in Griffith Memorial Park Cemetery. Johnson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Johnny Harper was born to Mr. Edward Harper and the late Ruby Lee Harper in Covington County. He was a member of Progress M. B. Church and attended Bassfield High School. He worked at Wal-Mart until his health failed.

He is survived by two brothers, James (Cora) Harper and Thomas Harper; and one sister, Marquiet Harper, and many other relatives and friends.
