Funeral services were held Monday April 17, 2017, St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Bassfield  for Mr. Gregory Pierce Dyess, 54, who died on April 10, 2017, at his residence. Burial followed at St. James Cemetery

Pallbearers were:  Ray Davis, Timothy Dyess, Dale Dyess, Eric Dyess, Kevin Dyess, Nicky Morgan, Jim Morgan, Mike Harrell and Zack Hurst.

Father Tommy Conway, Father Peter and Rev. Bryan Stewart officiated.  Saulters Moore Funeral Home of Prentiss was in charge of all arrangements

Mr. Dyess was born Jan.  21, 1963, in Jefferson Davis County. He was the son of Mack Dyess and Marjorie Allen Dyess. He was a marketing associate for Sysco Food Company for 15 years. He was a member of St. Fabian Catholic Church in the Bellvue community. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was an avid Saints fan.

He is survived by his wife, Renee Dyess of Sumrall; his son, Brandon Dyess (Sarah) of Hattiesburg; four daughters, Toni Reid (Ashley) of Sumrall, Tiffany Dyess of Hattiesburg, Brittany Anglin (Chase) of Hattiesburg and Taylor Dyess of Sumrall; nine grandchildren; three brothers, Randy Dyess of Columbia, Mike Dyess of Oakvale, and Terry Dyess of Columbia.
