Funeral services were held Saturday, April 29, 2017, at Shady Grove Church, Silver Creek, for Mr. Jessie James Hathorne, 60, who died Monday, April 24, 2017, at his residence. Rev. Michael Smith officiated with burial following in the church cemetery.  Johnson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Jessie Hathorne was born to the late R. J. and Jessie Bell Hathorne.  He was a member of Shady Grove Church and attended McCullough School in Monticello,.  He was employed by Kopper Incorporated for 35 years.

He is survived by: aunt, Darlene Parkman; two sisters-in-law, Bobbie Hathorne and Evelyn Hathorne.
