Funeral services were held May 13, 2017,  at Taylor Hill M. B. Church, New Hebron, for Mr. Moses Stowers, 61, who died May 8, 2017, in Lawrence County. Elder Adell Brown officiated with burial following in the church cemetery.  Johnson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Stowers was born to the late Ed and Martha Stowers in Noxubee.

He was a member of Taylorhill M. B. Church. He was a professional logger and member of Masonic Lodge. He is survived by: wife, Lilly Stowers, three children, Moses Stowers Jr., Tomica Stowers and Jeremy (Tamika) Stowers; five step-children; four sisters; two brothers; many other relatives and friends.
