Funeral services for Mrs. Yvonne Thurman were held at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 15, 2017, at Saulters Moore Funeral Home Chapel in Prentiss. Mrs. Thurman, 75, died Tuesday, June 13, 2017, in Prentiss. Rev. Terry Wallace officiated. Burial followed in the Mt. Zion Methodist Cemetery.  Saulters Moore Funeral Home of Prentiss was in charge of all arrangements.

Pallbearers were Mason Dyess, Colby Dyess, Austin Hamilton, Guy Easterling, John Dyess and Jeffrey Magee.

Mrs. Thurman previously worked as a group home director for the Boswell Center and also as a teacher’s assistant and school bus driver for Jefferson Davis County Schools. She was a member of Lone Star Baptist Church.

Mrs. Thurman is survived by one daughter, Wanda (Danny) Hamilton of Prentiss; one son, Dan C. (Tracy) Dyess of Prentiss; one brother, Cecil Easterling of Collins; five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

Mrs. Thurman was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Charles Thurman and her son Darryl Dyess.
