Funeral services were held Tuesday, Aug. 8, 2017, at 3 p.m. at Saulters Moore Funeral Home Chapel in Prentiss, for Mr. Hulon Broom, 85, of Flowood, who passed away Saturday, Aug. 5, 2017, in Jackson. Interment followed in Society Hill Cemetery.  Saulters Moore Funeral Home of Prentiss was in charge of arrangements.

Visitation was Tuesday, Aug. 8, 2017, from 1:30 to 3:00 p.m. at Saulters Moore Funeral Home.

Rev. Mike Herrington officiated. Pallbearers were Wilson Lawrence, Danny Broom, John Shivers, Luke Gehbauer, Maurine Herrington and Charles Beard.

Mr. Broom was born Aug. 14, 1931, in Natchez, to Willie W. Broom and Annie Herrington. He was a painting contractor in the construction business. He was a member of Harmony Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife of sixty four years, Eva Broom of Flowood; two sons, Doug (Cheryl) Broom of Brandon and Danny (Rebecca) Broom of Madison; two grandchildren, Candace Blahah ad Camille Eiland and two great grandchildren, Elle Eiland and Eva Blahah.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father and one sister, Juanita Polk.
