Funeral services were held Friday, July 14, 2017 at Sweetwater C.M.E. Church for Mrs. Margie Hathorn McLeod, 93, who died Saturday, July 8, 2017, at her residence.  Rev. Dr. Charles Holbrook, pastor, officiated with interment following in the church cemetery.  Johnson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Margie McLeod was born to the late James Wood and Martha Hathorn.  She was a member of Sweetwater C.ME. Church where she served as an usher, class leader, stewardess, and missionary.  She also served as an Eastern Star. She was a participant in Five County Senior Citizen Center.

She was preceded in death by her brothers, Daniel Hathorn, Reedus Hathorn, Yance Hathorn and son, Onette McLeod Jr.

She is survived by one brother, John H. (Bettie) Hathorn of Bassfield; four sisters, Woodie Mae Magee of Indianapolis, Indiana, Olivia Magee of South Bend, Indiana, Emma (Emit) Magee of Gulfport; Mary N. Silverburg of Vallejo, California; eight children, Wallace (Lessie) Hathorn, Charles McLeod, Delores Burton all of Bassfield; Bobbie (Troy) Davis of Pinola, Joe McLeod, Shirley (James) Whitman of Stockbridge, Georgia, Dwight (Sandie) McLeod of Decatur, Georgia, Yolanda (Roland) Harper of Bassfield; 29 grandchildren; two great grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.
