Dan Henry Smith died Aug. 23, 2017 at Uptown Health Care Center in New Orleans, Louisiana.

He was the son of John Henry Smith and Anna Elizabeth (Lizzie) Sanders Smith of Prentiss.

He is survived by: three daughters, Sarah McAlpin (Jacob) of Brandon, Tiffany Mangum (Justin) of Mendenhall and Brittany Herrington (Billy) of Purvis; seven grandchildren; one sister, Joyce Sills of Silver Creek; two nieces, one nephew and numerous cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents.

A graveside memorial will be held at a later date.
