Funeral services were held Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2017, at 11 a.m. at Landmark Baptist Church in Carson for Mr. James H. Brewer, 67, of Columbia, who died Nov. 5, 2017, in Stone County. Burial followed in the Landmark Cemetery.   Rev. Bob Burge officiated.

Pallbearers were Shawn Dyess, Ted Dyess, Darrell Dyess, Dale Dyess, Daryl Brewer, Michael Dyess and Wade Brewer.  Saulters Moore Funeral Home of Prentiss was in charge of all arrangements.

Visitation was Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2017, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. before the service at Landmark Baptist Church.

Mr. Brewer was born Jan. 6, 1950, in Magee. He was the son of Houston Brewer and Florence Lolar Brewer. He was an Army Veteran and served in the Korean War.

He was a former electrician for Hercules. He retired from the oil field. He was an avid auto racer. He was a member of Landmark Baptist Church.

Mr. Brewer is survived by his son, Darrin Brewer of Carson; his daughter, Sherri Brewer of Carson; his former wife, Sharon Dyess Brewer of Carson; four grandchildren; two great grandchildren; his brother, Bill Brewer (Doris) of Gautier; three sisters, Faye Lea (Allen) of Brandon, Sue Plunk (Lloyd) of Jackson and Johnnie Brewer of Bunker Hill.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, James Eddie Brewer.
