Mr. Lonnie Ray Solomon was the fourth child born to Elbert “Preacher” and Ora Jane Solomon of Prentiss. He attended school in Jefferson Davis County. He joined Prentiss First Baptist Church at an early age. He left home to work for Alabama Piping Company, he later moved to California in the early sixties. He met and married Yvonne Walker.

He died Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2017, in California. He will be remembered for his wit and great sense of humor and his love and commitment to family.

He was preceded in death by: wife, Yvonne Solomon; brothers, John E. Solomon and Bobby J. Solomon; sisters, Olivia “Lee” Magee, Ora Nell Hooker and Uklerzine Williams.

He is survived by: three children, Lenette (Paul) Vaughn, Ray (Asha) Solomon and Lonnie R. Solomon, Jr.; two grandsons; three siblings, Elbert (Thelma) Solomon, Eva F. (James) Edmon and Norma Edgars; and many other relatives and friends.
