Funeral services were held Saturday, Dec. 30, 2017, at Jordan Hill M. B. Church, Carson, for Mrs. Arlena Bass Kylons, 71, who died Friday, Dec. 22, 2017, at her residence.  Rev. Roy Thompson officiated with burial following in the church cemetery. Johnson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Arlena Bass Kylons was born to the late Dora and Walter Bass Sr. She joined South Pleasant Hill M. B. Church and later joined Jordan Hill M. B. Church where she served as mission sister, deaconess and president of the choir for over 20 years until her health failed.

Mrs. Kylons was married to the late Edward Kylons Sr., to this union, one child was born. She worked at the hospital for 36 years.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, Jimmy, Clarence and Walter Bass Jr.; four sisters-in-law and two brothers-in-law.

She is survived by one son, Edward Kylons Jr.; two daughters, Yvonne and Yvette Grace; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; sister, Pauline Bass, two brothers, John (Patricia) Bass and James (Rose) Fair of Prentiss; sister-in-law, Betty Barnes; special niece, Sata Williams and many other relatives and friends.
