Funeral services were held Saturday, Dec. 16, 2017, at Progress M. B. Church, Bassfield, for Mrs. Cora Jean Saucier, 75, who died Friday, Dec. 8, 2017, at Forrest General Hospital, Hattiesburg. Rev. Marcus Hull, pastor, officiated with burial following in the church cemetery.  Johnson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Cora Jean Saucier was born to Mrs. Annie Mae Fairman in Bassfield.  She was a member of Progress M. B. Church and remained a faithful member until her health failed.

She was a bus driver for many years for Five County Child Development.  She later began care-giving for many throughout the community.

She is survived by her mother, Annie Mae Fairman; two children, Jacqueline (Darron) Polley of Houston, Texas and Kermit (Faye) Dickerson of Gainesville, Virginia; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one sister, Lillie Myers of Bassfield; many other relatives and friends.
