Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Mary Joyce Myers were held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2018, at the McMellon-Myers Cemetery in Sumrall. Mrs. Myers died on Friday, Dec. 29, 2017, in Jackson. Saulters Moore Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers were Chris Holloway, Brad Holloway, Dennis Holloway, David Williams, Josh Davis, and Tony Bass.

Mary Joyce McMellon Myers was born April 26, 1935, in Sumrall to Charles Wesley McMellon Sr. and Laney Ethel Graves McMellon. She was a homemaker and a member of Bethany Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her mother and father; her husband, Sherdon Myers; one son, Michael Glen Myers, and three brothers and sisters.

Mrs. Myers is survived by two daughters, Merita Davis of Seminary and Donna Holloway (Dennis) of Brandon; one son, Allen Myers of Victoria, Texas; seven grandchildren; a number of great-grandchildren; two sisters, Martha Lott of Sumrall and Beverly Kamenicky of Porter, Texas; one brother, Charles Wesley McMellon Jr. of Sumrall; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
