Funeral services for Mr. William Holt were held on Saturday, Dec. 30, 2017, at Saulters Moore Funeral Home Chapel. Mr. Holt died on Wednesday, Dec. 27, 2017, in Rogers, Arkansas. Rev. Mike Sutton officiated and burial was in Decatur Cemetery in Decatur.

Saulters Moore Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers were Kenneth Jones, Jimmy Johnson, Bucky Burness and Tommy Jones.

William Monroe Holt was born Oct. 3, 1930, in Newton County to Charles and Mavis Thorne Holt. He was a technician in the gas pipeline business. Mr. Holt was a Veteran of the United States Air Force and was a member of Bethany Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father; and one daughter, Gale Taylor.

Mr. Holt is survived by his wife of 67 years, Lorene Holt of Rogers, Arkansas; one son, William Timothy (Regina) of Rogers, Arkansas; one son-in-law, Charlie Taylor of Hattiesburg; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; five sisters, Vie Everette, Joyce Johnson, Anette Airhart, Nell McAully and Dot Mosley and one brother, Lavelle Holt.
