Earnestine Johnson Hall

Funeral services for Mrs. Earnestine (Stine-Tine) Johnson Hall, 76, of Mount Olive, formerly of Carson, were held on Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2018, at 11 a.m. at Point Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church in Mount Olive. Interment was in the church cemetery. Her son, Rev. Kenneth HallĀ  officiated the services.

Reeves Funeral Home, Inc, Mount Olive was in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Hall died at Merit Health-Wesley Hospital in Hattiesburg on Jan. 10, 2018.

Honorary pallbearers were Zachary Hall, Richard Johnson, Gabe Harris, Terrance Price, Edwin Hall, Dorian Gray and Maurice McFarland.

Pallbearers were Calvin Graves, Ronald Strickland, Henri Drake Cook, Foster Hawthorne, DeWayne Hall and Dayna Hall. Flower bearers were Ladies of Point Pleasant MB Church.

Mrs. Hall joined Shorts Chapel CME Church in Bassfield at an early age. She continued her Christian walk at Point Pleasant MBC serving as Sunday school teacher, church secretary, president of the mission and other capacities.

She received her education from Carver High School in Jefferson Davis County and graduated from Jackson State University in Jackson.

Her professional career spanned over 30 years. She was employed at Picayune school system in Picayune as an educator and ended her professional career in 2003 as a special education teacher with the Jefferson Davis School system in Prentiss.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel and Maple Johnson; her husband, Rafus Hall; a daughter, Mary Ann Hall; three sisters, Gracie J. Booth, Lucille J. Gray, and Mildred Johnson and one brother, Richard Lee Johnson.

Survivors include her son, Kenneth Ray Hall of Mount Olive; two grandchildren, Marissa Hall, Harrison County, and Zachary Hall, of Carson; one brother, Leroy (Betty) Johnson, of Vicksburg; two brother-in-laws, Henry Leroy(Ana) Hall and Lavell Hall; three sister-in-laws, Deloris Cook, Sherlie (Charles) Powell, Barbara Killings, and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
