Funeral services were held Saturday, Jan. 6, 2018, at Palestine M.B. Church, Oakvale, for Mrs. Sandra Faye Watts Owens, 62, who died Thursday, Dec. 28, 2017, at Forrest General Hospital, Hattiesburg. Rev. Johnnie Pittman, pastor, officiated. Interment followed in the church cemetery. Johnson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Sandra Owens was born to the late James and Edna Watts in Jefferson Davis County. She was a member of Palestine M. B. Church. She attended Jackson State University and was married to the late Jimmie Dale Owens and four children were born to this union. She worked at Forrest General Hospital.

Mrs. Owens was preceded in death by: two sisters, Mildred Barnes and Lou Ella Jones. She is survived by four children: Michael (Dezella) Watts, Nikki Watts and Kenneyta Owens of Oakvale, Maurice (Frankie) Owens of Hattiesburg; seven grandchildren; four sisters, Blondie (James) Henry of Oakvale, Barbara (Larry) Barnes of Taylorsville, Dorothy (Tony) Carroll of Thomasville, North Carolina and Yvonne Ross of Oakvale; three brothers, John Watts, James Watts and Sidney (Sarah) Watts of Oakvale and many other relatives and friends.
