Stolen property recovered

Jefferson Davis County deputies have recovered several stolen vehicles and arrested Dustin Stingley and Wayne Stingley for possession of stolen property, as well as other charges.

These arrests have led to numerous solved burglaries and more stolen items recovered.

The Stingleys are brothers and have no known address.

They are tied to the theft of a white GMC pickup stolen from Hwy. 13 south, a 2005 green Hyundai stolen off of Greens Creek Road and a 2015 Dodge Dart stolen in Carson. All vehicles were recovered

Credit cards stolen out of vehicles in Carson were being used by and led to the arrest of Dustin Stingley.

Inside a stolen vehicle out of Louisiana found on Hwy. 13 south, was information tying Wayne Stingley to the theft.

Wayne was apprehended during a traffic stop in Jefferson Davis County. Dustin was apprehended by Lawrence County law enforcement officers.

According to authorities, the brothers were stealing cars and hiding them on oil well locations. This was the case with a blue Ford that was stolen from Palace Drugs and recovered off Sonat Road at an oil well.

Jefferson Davis County Sheriff Deputies and investigators worked together with the Prentiss Police Department to solve this rash of crime.

“It took everyone woking together and using our ressources to apprehend these subjects,” said JDC investigator John Wayne Tolar.

Both brothers are still in the Jefferson Davis County Jail. Dustin has a $80,000 bond. Wayne’s bond was set at $100,000.

A silver Nissan Armada stolen from Hwy. 35 north in Covington County has still not been recovered.
