Funeral services were held Saturday, Jan. 20, 2018, at Progress M. B. Church in Bassfield, for Mr. Timothy Terrell Keys, 45, who died Sunday, Jan. 14, 2018, at Oschner Hospital in Metairie, Louisiana. Rev. Curtis Keys officiated with interment following in the church cemetery. Johnson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Timothy Keys was born to Mrs. Cora Jean Keys and the late Lafayette Harper in Bassfield. He was affectionately knwn as “Big Tim”. He joined Progress M. B. Church at an early age.  He graduated from Bassfield High School in 1991. He attended Pearl River Community College. He was employed by Southern Hen, Sanderson Farms and Ingalls Shipbuilding.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, M. C. and Lula Mae Keys and Charlie and Etha Mae Harper.

He is survived by his mother, Cora Jean Keys of Bassfield; six sisters, Tracey (James) Nelson, Sadelia (Jerrold) Johnson, Erica (Marvin) Griffith and Pamela Dixon of Bassfield; Hope Harper and Makeesha (David) Barnes of Hattiesburg; two brothers, Darick (Yolanda) Harper and Marquaise Harper of Hattiesburg; many other relatives and friends.
