Funeral services were held Saturday, Feb. 17, 2018, at New Life Fellowship Baptist Church, Monticello, Mississippi for Mr. Eric Levon Bridges Sr., 45, who died Saturday, Feb. 10, 2018, in Lawrence County.  Rev. Amos Bridges officiated with interment following in the church cemetery.  Johnson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Eric Bridges was born to Rev. Amos and the late Mattie Bridges.   He was married to Beverly Thompson Bridges and to this union two sons were born.  He joined Pearl River Valley Baptist Church at an early age and later joined New Life Fellowship Baptist Church where he served as a trustee.

He graduated from Lawrence County High School and later attended Alcorn State University.  He later received his cosmetology-barber license from Copiah Lincoln Community College and was employed at Magnolia Construction Company in Sumrall.

He is survived by his wife, Beverly Bridges; children, Tyler Thompson and Eric Bridges, Jr. all of Bassfield; father, Rev. Amos Bridges of Monticello; sister, Marva (Terrell) Atterberry of Monticello; special sister, Lashunda Overby of Mendenhall; father and mother-in-law, Joe and Melva Thompson Sr. of Bassfield; four sister-in-law; one brother-in-law, godchildren and many other relatives and friends.
