Funeral services for Mrs. Beatrice Jones Smith, 86, of Mt. Olive, were held on Saturday, Feb. 24, 2018, at 2 p.m. at Mt. Zion Jr. Baptist Church in Mt. Olive. Burial was in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Smith died at Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg on Feb. 7, 2018.

Pastor Leonard Keyes officiated the services.  Reeves Funeral Home, Inc., of Mt. Olive was in charge of the arrangements.

Pallbearers were  Lt. Curtis Keys, Kendrick Smith, Dorian Coleman, Larry Dale Magee, Jamie Magee and Antonio Conley.

Honorary pallbearers were David Smith, Michael Smith, Sam Jones Jr., Mark Smith, Marvin Smith Harold Owens and Terry Jones.

Flower bearers were granddaughters and friends.

Mrs. Smith was a faithful member of Mt. Zion Jr. Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Sam Jones and Katie Shelby Jones; her husband, Jessie Smith Jr.; children, Jessie “Duke” Smith and Brenda Smith; sisters, Pearlina Warren,  Mary Ducksworth and Annie Ruth Craft; brothers, Ance Jones, J. J. Jones and Lorinzo Hayes and four grandchildren.

Survivors include seven daughters, Katie Mae (Rev. Robert Ross Jr.), Martha (C.L.) Keys, Margaret Smith, Gretta Smith, all of Prentiss,  Rosita Carter and LaTricia (Mike) Johnson, all  of Magee and Helen (Charles) White, Mt. Olive; four sons, David Smith and Michael (Nancy) Smith, all of Prentiss, Mark Smith and Marvin Smith, both of Mount Olive; sisters, Dorothy Pope, Jerelene Walker and Louise Ducksworth, all of Magee; brothers, Sam Jones Jr. and Terry Jones, both of  Magee; 36 grandchildren; 69 great-grandchildren; 11 great great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends and special friend and aunt, Ruby Nell Hayes.
