Funeral services were held Saturday, March 10, 2018, at Bassfield Pentecostal Apostolic Church for Mrs. Latoyia Chiffon Smith, 34 and Baby Ivory Grace Smith, 1, who died Saturday, March 3, 2018, at their residence.  Bishop Clifton Jones officiated with interment following in Progress M. B. Church Cemetery in Bassfield. Johnson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Latoyia Smith was born in Forrest County to Miss Jeanette Thompson. She was a member of Bassfield Pentecostal Apostolic Church in Bassfield. She went to Job Corps in 2000; she furthered her education at Pearl River Community College of Nursing and Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College.

She was married to Carlo Smith of Macon and to this union two daughters were born.

They are survived by mother/grandmother, Jeanette Thompson of Bassfield; two daughters/sister, Jada Barnes and Gabrielle Smith; step-daughter/step-sister, Kira Smith of Macon; god-daughter/god-sister, Karjara Myers of Bassfield; one sister/aunt, Carrie (Malcoln) Fornerette of Missouri City, Texas, brother/uncle, Christ Thompson of Columbia, South Carolina, mother-in-law/paternal grandmother, Juanita Glenn of Macon and many other relatives and friends.
