Funeral services were held Saturday, Feb. 24, 2018, at South Pleasant Hill M. B. Church for Miss Marlyn Pauline Bass, 69, who died Thursday, Feb. 15, 2018, at Forrest General Hospital, inHattiesburg.

Rev. Robert Collins officiated with interment following in the church cemetery.  Johnson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Miss Pauline Bass was born to the late Walter and Dora Bass. She joined South Pleasant Hill M. B. Church where she was a member of the choir. She attended J. E. Johnson.  She worked at Jeff Davis Extended Care for 38 years.

She was preceded in death by four brothers, Jimmy Bass, Clarence Bass, Walter Bass Jr. and Jimmy Mallard and one sister, Arlena Kylons.

She is survived by three daughters, Arshae Hawthorne and Shelia May both of Prentiss; Sata Williams of Hattiesburg; two brothers, John (Patricia) Bass and James (Rose) Fair; three grandchildren; special friend, Amos Crumbly and many other relatives and friends.
