Several qualify in Nov. 6 county elections

Several Jefferson Davis County positions will be on the Nov. 6 general
election ballot.
Those qualifying in the District 3 school board election are Nadine
Thompson and John Napoleon Bass.
Melinda Stewart, Beulah Walker, Shonda Ard-Kelly and Danny Sanders are
in the race for the District 4 school board position.
The winner of each district will serve a 6-year term.
School board elections are on a rotating system.
Also on the ballot are two special elections.
One for constable Post 1 and one for District 5 elections commissioner.
Gerobe N. Peters Sr., Jason Wambolt and Michael E. Davis are all vying
for the constable position that was vacated by Zack Jackson. The
winner will fulfill Jackson’s remaining term which is one year.
Mattie Lewis is running unopposed for the District 5 elections
commissioner position.
