Funeral services were held Dec. 12, 2018 at Galilee M. B. Church for Mr. Mitchell Clay Norwood, 53, who died Dec. 6, 2018 at his residence. Rev. Levester Sutton, pastor, officiated with burial following in the Oak Ridge Church cemetery in New Hebron. Johnson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Mitchell C. Nor- wood was born to the late S. L. and Barbara Norwood. He joined Oak Ridge Baptist Church at an early age and later joined Galilee Church where he remained until his death. He attended Prentiss High School.

He was preceded in death by: sister, Tanjuan Norwood; brothers, James Morris and Patrease Norwood.

He is survived by: son, Curtis (Konswayla) Wilks of Laurel; granddaughter, Ja’Leigh Wilks of Laurel; niece, Tranease (Aquino)

Young of Prentiss; two nephews, Joel (Trina) Norwood of Gulfport and Rodrickus Easterline of Prentiss; sister-in-law, Mona Norwood of Prentiss and brother-in-law, Elester Williams of Gufport; and many other relatives and friends.
