Funeral services were held Jan. 12, 2019, at St. James M. B. Church in
Monticello for Mrs. Bertha Lee Berry Richardson, 80, who died Jan. 8,
2019, at her daughter’s residence in Red Oak, Texas. Rev. Quinton
Washington officiated with burial following in the church cemetery.
Johnson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Richardson was born to the late Climeteen and King Solomon Berry.
She was a member of St. James M. B. Church and relocated to New
Orleans, Louisiana. She was married to the late Joseph Richardson.
Mrs. Richardson later joined Austerlitz Street M. B. Church in New
Orleans, Louisiana. She worked in nursing service and retired from
Charity Hospital in New Orleans, Louisiana.
She is survived by: three daughters, Marilyn Walker, Giselle
Richardson and Cher Richardson-Brooks; son, Joseph Richardson; seven
grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; one brother, Charles Berry;
many other relatives and friends.
