Funeral services were held Jan. 11, 2019, at China Lee M. B. Church in
Silver Creek, for Mr. Joseph Harris Williams Sr., 80, who died Jan. 4,
2019, at his residence.  Rev. Johnnie Williams officiated with burial
following in the church cemetery. Johnson Funeral Home was in charge
of arrangements.
Mr. Joseph Williams, Sr. was born in Rose Hill Community to the late
J. P. and Annie Mae Williams. He was a member of Rose Hill M. B.
Church until he moved his membership to China Lee M. B. Church.  He
served in the Vietnam War where he received a Purple Heart.
Mr. Williams worked offshore, at the Monticello Hardwood and Lawrence
County Sanitation.
He was preceded in death by: wife, Elizabeth Williams; two sisters,
Charlene Armstrong and Betty Jean Witworth; two brothers, Charles
Williams and George Willams and one grandson, Rontario Williams.
He is survived by: daughters,  Angelia (James) Lowe, Annie Williams,
Jessica (Robert) Hill all of Silver Creek; Regina Price of Gulfport;
five sons, Joseph Jr. (Girtha) Williams of Silver Creek; Victor
(Teonna) Williams of Houston, Texas, Charles Williams of Silver Creek;
Phillip Williams of Tylertown; Zacharias (Carissa) Williams of Cedar
Rapids, Iowa; 16 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
