Funeral services for Mrs. Nelda McPhail were held at 1 p.m. Feb. 26,
2019, at the Saulter’s Funeral Home Chapel. Mrs. McPhail, 100, died
Feb. 23, 2019, at the Jefferson Davis County Extended Care Facility in
Prentiss.
Rev. Robby Hathorn and Rev. Randy Easterling officiated and burial was
in the Carson Cemetery.
Saulters Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers were David McPhail, Scotty McPhail, Randy Miller, Maurice
McPhail, Greg McPhail and Brian McPhail. Kendall McPhail and Neal
Walker will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.
Nelda Branton McPhail was born on Feb. 25, 1918, in Lawrence County to
Frank Branton and Tisha Daughdrill Branton.
Mrs. McPhail was a retired seamstress for the Edwin Hyman Company. She
was a member of Sonshine Square Church.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father; her husband, Byron
Lavelle McPhail; and 10 brothers and sisters.
Mrs. McPhail is survived by three sons, Billy Lavelle McPhail of
Prentiss, Harles Branton McPhail (Janie) of Prentiss and Donald
Hollins McPhail (Juanita) of Clem; two daughters, Brenda Carolyn
McPhail Bryant (Wayne) of Prentiss, and Rose Sharon McPhail (Randy
Easterling) of Carson; as well as a host of grandchildren,
great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and
other relatives and friends.
Visitation was Feb. 25, 2019, 5:30 – 8 p.m. at Saulters Funeral Home.
