Carroll Fred Loftin Jr.

Carroll Fred Loftin Jr. (Freddy), 74, passed away March 9, 2019 at
Merit Health Wesley in Hattiesburg. Funeral services were held at
Jones and Son Funeral Home Chapel in Richton on March 13, 2019. The
Rev. Evan Freeman and Rev. Justin Stinson officiated with interment in
the Union Cemetery.
Carroll Fred Loftin was born Dec. 4, 1944, in Prentiss to Carroll Fred
Loftin and Ruby Bass Loftin. He was a member at Antioch Baptist
Church. He attended Prentiss schools.
On July 22, 1962 he was involved in a swimming accident that left him
a quadriplegic.
In March 1973, he was admitted to Hot Springs Rehabilitation in Hot
Springs, Arkansas. While there he received much needed therapy and
completed high school requirements. He was taught how to drive a
vehicle with hand controls.
In March 1975, he returned to Prentiss and in August he enrolled at
the University of Southern Mississippi where he was awarded a Bachelor
of Science degree in August 1978. He was employed as a vocational
rehab counselor for several years.
In 1983 he married Nancy West and they moved to the Richton area. He
was active in the H. A. M. radio club. He loved working with computers
and assisted so many people.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy Loftin of Richton; a step-daughter,
Swonia (Eddie) Mayo; two stepsons, Eddy (Tonya) Freeman of Richton and
Scott (Connie) West of Addis, Louisiana; two sisters, Carolyn McRaney
of Prentiss and Ora Beele Williams of Florence; six grandchildren;
eight great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Kenny Daughdrill
Funeral services for Mr. Kenny Daughdrill were held at 10 a.m. March
19, 2019, at the New Hebron Baptist Church. Mr. Daughdrill, 59, died
March 14, 2019, at his residence.  Rev. Mike Green officiated and
burial was in the New Hebron Cemetery.
Saulters Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers were Dyle Daughdrill, Chris Bryan, SM Sgt. William Todd
Holbrooks, David Sides, Dylan Bryan and Randy Nichols.
Kendall Lee Daughdrill was born on Oct. 1, 1959, in Jackson, to Robert
Kendall Daughdrill and Patricia Ann Steverson Daughdrill.
He was a Master Sargent in the United States Air Force. He was a
member of New Hebron Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father.
Mr. Daughdrill is survived by two daughters, Shelly Bryan (Chris) of
New Hebron and Jessica Hedgepath (Kevin) of Silver Creek; one son,
Galen Daughdrill of New Hebron; one brother, Kevin Daughdrill of
Prentiss; special friends, Kathleen Sharp and Buddy Buckley.
Visitation was March 18, 2019, from 5–8 p.m. at New Hebron Baptist Church.

Betty Robbins Funeral services for Mrs. Betty Robbins were conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday, July 16, 2024, at Society Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Paul Young officiating. Interment followed in the Society Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Robbins, age 75, entered into the eternal rest of her Lord early Saturday morning, July 13, 2024, at the Forrest General Hospital. Saulters Moore Funeral Home was entrusted with arrangements. The Robbins family received friends one hour before the funeral service, beginning at noon, Tuesday, at Society Hill Baptist Church. Pallbearers included Kelley LeNormand, Cymantha Shellenberger, Mason Robbins, Jenna Robbins, Frank Vice and Frank Vice Jr. Betty Robbins was born on June 6, 1949, in Magee, Mississippi to Walter R. and Margaret Jones Bishop. Mrs. Robbins was a long-time resident of Carson. She and her husband would go on to raise a happy family of six children that would multiply over the years with the addition of in-laws, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mrs. Robbins loved the country life and will be remembered for not only growing a yard full of beautiful flowers, but also a vegetable garden of which she fed her family. An animal lover, she also had dogs, chickens and hogs over the years. Mrs. Robbins was a member of Society Hill Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her parents, Walter R. and Margaret Bishop, her husband, Kenneth Terrell Robbins Sr; her daughter, Pamela Robbins; sisters, Patsy Holden, Margaret  Coble, Linda Hester and her brother, Richard Bishop. Her memory will forever be cherished by her daughter, Billie Jo Williamson of Prentiss; sons, Kenny Robbins Jr. (Kathy) of Carson, Mikell Robbins (Kelley) of Palestine, Texas, John Robbins (Nicole) of Sumrall, Daniel Robbins, (Tanya) of Ft. Worth, Texas; brother, Ray Bishop (Nancy) of Magee and her sister, Myrtis Craig (Ed) of Rossville, Georgia. Mrs. Robbins also leaves behind 13 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
