Funeral services were held April 6, 2019, at Mt. Bethel Ministries in
Bassfield for Mrs. Annie M. Fairman, 102, who died April 3, 2019, at
her residence.
Rev. Alton Carson officiated with burial following in the Progress M.
B. Church Cemetery in Bassfield. Johnson Funeral Home was in charge of
arrangements.
Mrs. Annie Mae Fairman was born to the late Sam Fairman and the late
Arcola Rancifer in Brookhaven. She attended school in Lawrence County.
She joined Progress M. B. Church at an early age.
Later in life she united with Mt. Bethel Ministries and remained until
death. Mrs. Fairman was married to the late L. S. Myers and two
children were born, one son preceded her in death.
She worked at Collinswood Poultry Plant and later became a childcare
worker for Mr. and Mrs. Willie C. Graves.
She was preceded in death by daughter, Cora Jean Saucier.
She is survived by: daughter, Lillie M. Fornerette of Bassfield;
step-son, L. T. Myers of Chicago, Illinois; three grandchildren, Tobie
(Crystal) Fornerette of Phoenix, Arizona, Jackie (Darren) Polley of
Houston, Texas and Kermit (Faye) Dickerson of Gainesville, Virginia;
seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
