Dennis Bedwell

Funeral services for Mr. Dennis Bedwell were held at noon May 9, 2019,
at the Saulters Funeral Home Chapel. Mr. Bedwell, 75, died May 7,
2019, at his residence in Prentiss surrounded by family. Rev. Benji
Sessums officiated and burial was in the Carson Baptist Cemetery in
Carson.
Saulters Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers were Darren McNeese, Spud McNeese, Rick Herrington, Gary
Wheat, Mike Faler, Lou Cuttway, Charles Reid and Willie Ard.
Dennis Bedwell was born October 3, 1943, in Carson, to Barney Bedwell
and Tressie Dyess Bedwell . Mr. Bedwell retired as a millwright at the
papermill after 44 years.  He was a member of Carson Baptist Church
where he was a Deacon and taught Sunday school. He was a graduate of
Bassfield High School Class of 1961 and attended Draughn’s Business
College in Jackson. He was a member of Carson Bunker Hill Masonic
Lodge. He was an avid turkey and deer hunter; Dennis Bedwell was a
true horseman. He was a Veteran of the United States Army National
Guard.
He was preceded in death by: his mother and father; and his wife of 57
years, Faye Bedwell.
Mr. Bedwell is survived by, a daughter, Lisa Hathorn and her husband
Kim of Prentiss; a son, Ed Bedwell and his wife Michele of Carson; two
grandsons, Tanner Hathorn and Evan Bedwell; five sisters, Patricia
McNeese (Spud) of Moss Point, Frances Bedwell of Richton, Janice Davis
(Larry) of Oak Grove, Donna Applewhite (Rex) of Laurel and Melinda
Carli (Jay) of Poplarville; as well as a host of other relatives and
friends.
Visitation was May 9, 2019, from 10 a.m. until noon at Saulters
