JDC forestry banquet is July 22

The Jefferson Davis County Forestry Association will hold its annual
banquet on July 22, at the Fellowship Hall at Bethany Baptist Church
in Prentiss at 7 p.m.
Tedrick Ratcliff, executive vice-president of the Mississippi Forestry
Association, will be the speaker for this year’s event. Mr. Ratcliff
will talk about current events in Mississippi forestry.
Awards for the 2019 Tree Farmer ofthe Year and Logger of Year will be
presented after the meal. Sponsors for the event, along with the
Jefferson Davis County Forestry Association directors and officers
will also be recognized for their service.
The cost for membership in the Mississippi Forestry Association is $15
for an individual and $20 for a couple. Ages 10-18 will be $10 and
ages 9 and under $5.
The meal at the banquet is included with the membership. Dues can be
paid at the door the night of the banquet, or they can be prepaid by
contacting the extension office.
The Jefferson Davis County Forestry Association is a grass roots,
non-profit organization of forest landowners, local forest industry,
and others supporting forestry in our community. For more information,

5121.  Those attending the banquet are asked to R.S.V.P. by July 19.
